Fertility Acupuncture in Kitchener-Waterloo
Whether you're trying to conceive naturally or navigating a medicated cycle, IUI, or IVF, every fertility journey looks a little different. Your care should, too.
Looking at the Bigger Fertility Picture
Fertility is rarely about just one thing.
Your menstrual cycle, reproductive health, medical history, lifestyle, and fertility treatment can all be pieces of the bigger picture.
Whether you're just beginning to prepare for pregnancy or already working with a fertility clinic, acupuncture can support you at different points along the way.
-
Menstrual & Ovulatory Health: Your menstrual cycle can offer valuable insights into your reproductive health. Acupuncture care may address concerns such as irregular cycles, ovulatory changes, painful periods, spotting, and PMS.
PMOS & Endometriosis: For those navigating PMOS (formerly PCOS) or endometriosis, treatment is tailored to your symptoms and reproductive goals, whether you're managing ongoing concerns, preparing for pregnancy, or undergoing fertility treatment.
Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR): If you've been diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve, have a low AMH, or are experiencing a reduced ovarian response during fertility treatment, acupuncture may be incorporated as supportive care alongside your medical treatment plan.
-
Whether you're preparing to start trying or have been trying to conceive for some time, care is tailored to your menstrual cycle, ovulation, symptoms, and overall health. Acupuncture and lifestyle guidance can be incorporated into your preconception care based on your individual needs.
-
Acupuncture care can be coordinated with your medicated cycle or IUI treatment plan, with timing adapted around monitoring, medications, ovulation or trigger timing, and your scheduled procedure.
-
Acupuncture care can be coordinated throughout your IVF cycle, including preparation, ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer. Treatment timing is individualized around your fertility clinic protocol and where you are in your cycle.
-
Fertility care isn't only about the female partner. Acupuncture and individualized lifestyle guidance can also be incorporated into preconception care for men, including those navigating concerns related to sperm health.
Trying To Conceive Naturally

Fertility treatment comes with its own timeline. Acupuncture care can be coordinated around your fertility clinic's protocol, with treatment adapted to where you are in your IUI or IVF cycle.

What Your Fertility Acupuncture Care Looks Like
Care That Evolves With You
Your treatment isn't based on a “one-size-fits-all” protocol.
At each visit, we'll check in on your cycle or fertility treatment progress, current symptoms, and any changes since your last appointment. These details help guide the focus of each treatment.
Depending on your needs, your care may include body acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, herbal medicine, and practical nutrition or lifestyle guidance.
INDIVIDUALIZED
Care adapts to where you are in your cycle or fertility treatment.
INTEGRATIVE
Designed to complement, not replace, your medical fertility care.
WHOLE-PERSON
Sleep, digestion, stress, energy, and overall well-being are considered alongside reproductive health.
When Should I Start Fertility Acupuncture?
There is no single “perfect” time to begin. When possible, I often recommend starting around 3 months before trying to conceive or beginning fertility treatment.
Why three months? Working together across approximately three menstrual cycles gives us time to observe your cycle patterns, track changes over time, and adjust your care as your needs evolve. It also provides a longer window to support your overall reproductive health before conception or fertility treatment begins.
Already starting IUI or IVF soon? You haven’t missed your window. Acupuncture can still be incorporated into your care during your current treatment cycle.
Acupuncture is supportive care, not a guarantee of IVF success, and is intended to complement rather than replace medical fertility treatment.
